What Do You Wish Linux Could Do For You That It Doesn't Do Now?

I wish Linux came pre-configured for the little things in life so I don't have to fiddle with it.
Don't you?

Like:
* Multimedia to just work out of the box.
* Ability to hook up iPods and other devices and have them work.
* Ability to access Blackberry.
* Have most of the applications that do what you need them to do already installed and configured.
* Be able to use USB, Firewire, and various memory stick devices just by plugging them in.
* Have lots of software available to install at the click of a button.

So my question for you is:
What Do You Wish Linux Could Do For You That It Doesn't Do Now?

  1. I would like to see a clean look, where the appearance in apps, and such match. Also would like to see just more defined appearance. Want to be able to just do things easily. I am able to do most tweaks and changes etc., but want it easy enough to do things that my wife can do it, and other people that I am introducing to Linux.

  4. Hi, everyone!

Just arrives to RevLInuxOs and, as it is at "launch" fase I wiould like to add my 2 cents:
    - Wireless out of the box!!! That's a must.
    - Networking with other machines in the house, mostly Windows boxes, for sharing files and Printer.
    - Photo manipulation as in collages, phot dvd making...
    - Dvd: cut, edit, join, make your own with your own videos and photos and music.
    - Collection managing software for those hundreds of mp3s you can't live without ;-)

These are some of the things I expect my main computer to do without problems.

    Did this help? ;-)

  5. I think it is reasonable to assume that most of those things will be made available in some way.

Which programs do you use for those tasks?
